Obituary For Charlotte Denise Blackmon

In Loving Memory of Charlotte Denise Blackmon, November 17, 1964- August 31, 2026.

There are no words that could ever prepare a family for losing someone they love so deeply. Her passing was unexpected, and our hearts are broken trying to understand how we are supposed to live in a world without her.

Charlotte was born in Tampa, Florida on November 17th, 1964, to Clarence and Thelma Kent. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her children and family more than anything. Her love was deeper than words could ever express. She would do anything for them, always putting their needs before her own. She protected them, provided for them, prayed for them, and remained strong through the many hardships she faced in life. She leaves behind her mother, Thelma Kent; her husband, Michael Blackmon; her children, Justin, Vanessa, and Brittany; her grandchildren, Alex, Damian, Hailey, Bentley, William, Letty, and Mason; her sisters, Teresa, Marilyn, Gloria, and Brenda; and her brother, Dwayne.

She loved the Lord and held tightly to her faith. Through every hardship and difficult moment, she prayed and trusted in God. When someone was hurting, she had a special way of comforting them. She would listen, offer her sympathy, tell them she was praying for them, and somehow make them feel that everything would be okay.

She loved to sing, and her beautiful voice was something those who knew her will never forget. She brought joy through her singing, warmth through her laughter, and comfort through her prayers. She also had a special way of calming the children, often saying, “Shhh… don’t you hear that dog barking?” What may have seemed like a small moment then has now become a precious memory that will be cherished forever.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she is no longer facing the hardships of this life. She is now rejoicing with her daddy in Heaven, singing hymns and waiting for the day when we will all come home and be reunited again.

Charlotte, you were loved more than you could ever know, and you will be missed more than words can ever say. Your time with us was not long enough, but the love you gave us will last forever. We will carry you in our hearts, talk about you often, and keep your memory alive in everything we do.

Until we meet again, rest peacefully. We love you always.

    Absolutely beautiful words shared about Charlotte. By reading the words written in her honor, I could tell she was loved beyond measure. I have so many memories of us cousins growing up together and cherish the times we spent together as kids and teenagers. Time and distance didn't allow us to see each other too often after we married and had children, but those special memories will always be in my mind and in my heart.     My grandma was such an amazing person. Growing up, she was always trying to teach me things but me being a kid I never paid attention because I was too focused on playing like a kid. I wish I could go back and pay more attention and spend more time with her when I could. She taught me how to cook, clean and survive. The only thing I regret is not saying thank you more often.
