Gloria Athanos passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2024, in Plant City, Florida.

She was born on December 29, 1937, in Westfield, NY, to parents Harold Raymond Sweatman and Dorothy Shepard Sweatman.

Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Donald E. Athanos.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Cynthia Ruman, Brenda Szalc, and Kay Dreher.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother, as well as an esteemed music teacher.

Linda Cumbie August 10, 2025 - Gloria taught my mom, Peggy Moreland, how to play the organ. I'm forever grateful that she did. I was friends with her daughter Cindy, and would love to get in touch with her.
