Obituary For John Andrew Morris

John Andrew Morris, 94, of Largo, Florida passed away peacefully Friday May 8th, joining his wife of more than 65 years, Myrna, who preceded him in death.

Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, and later moved with his family to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he spent his childhood and early adult years. It was there that he met the love of his life, Myrna, a neighborhood friend who would become his lifelong partner.

In his early adulthood, John served in the United States Army, teaching soldiers how to properly handle and use a rifle. His service was brief, but it reflected the discipline, steadiness, and practicality that shaped the rest of his life. During his time away, Myrna and John exchanged many letters, and their bond only grew stronger. Upon his return, the two were married and began building their life together.

As their family grew, John and Myrna relocated to Largo, Florida, when their three children were young. There, John built a home grounded in loyalty, responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to his family.

Throughout his life, John had a strong appreciation for luxury cars. He and Myrna spent the occasional evening out together, dining and listening to live music. One of their favorite places to escape to was Captiva Island, where they enjoyed the warm sun and quiet tropical atmosphere. John also took pleasure in the art of golf, and when he wasn't playing, he could often be found watching the PGA on television.

He was a steady presence- direct, honest, and never one to pretend to be anything other than who he was. He leaves behind a family who respected him, learned from him, loved him deeply, and will miss him greatly.

John is survived by two of his children, Sue Tomaro and Chris Morris, and is preceded in death by his son John Morris Jr., whom he now joins in rest. He leaves behind seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, each of whom brought him pride in their own way.

Though his absence will be felt, there is comfort in knowing that John is now reunited with his love, Myrna.

A service will be held on June 13, 2026, at 11a.m. ET at Brandon Funeral Services 106 Rolling Hills Blvd. Valrico, Fl. 33594.
