Obituary For Patricia Ann Hankerson

Mrs. Patricia Ann Hankerson was born on December 19, 1946, in Tampa, Florida, to the union of the late Dennis Garner Sr. and Johnnie Mae Garner. Patricia, affectionately known as Pat.

Pat attended Middleton High School and received her bachelor's degree from NEC Tampa Technical Institute. Upon receiving her degree, Pat was employed by Honeywell (until its closure). She was also employed with Progress Village Elementary, Maas Brothers, Montgomery Ward, JCPenney, and Cintas. Pat was known for her love of cooking and good food.

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Pat peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Garner Sr. and Johnnie Mae Garner; and her siblings: Jimmy Grant, George Earl Allison, Dennis Garner Jr., and Edyth Rose Bullock.

Pat’s legacy of love, strength, and family devotion will live on through those she held dear: her five devoted children—Mr. Alfonso Hankerson, Mr. Gerald Hankerson, Ms. Gache Hankerson, Mr. Theron (LaShay) Hankerson, and Ms. Latricia Hankerson; her grandchildren—Jasmyne Hankerson, Shane’ Hankerson, Chelsey Hankerson, Alfonso Hankerson III, Gerald Bellamy, Jerard Young Hankerson, Jordan Hankerson, Antione Hankerson, Brea (AJ) King, Tory Hankerson, Tyra Hankerson, Tytianna Hankerson, Kelvin Porter, Justin Ross; and a host of great-grandchildren; her siblings—Margaret Sims, Albert Garner, and Michael Garner Sr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
