Barbara Dooly Fesler October 31, 1933 - October 29, 2021 Loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Barbara Dooly Fesler passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the age of 87 years old. Barbara was born in 1933 in Birmingham, Alabama to James (Jewel) Dooly and Gertie Threadgill Dooly. Barbara’s had two sisters, Ella Dooly Price and Charlotte Dooly. Barbara was married to the love of her life, James (Fez) Fesler on December 17, 1955 in Warner Robbins, Georgia. Barbara spent most of her adult years living in Florida, although her first 3 children were born in Washington D.C. Barbara’s first child, Wendy, was born with intellectual and physical disabilities. She went on to have three additional children. Barbara spent her life caring for Wendy and ensuring that she had the best opportunities available so Wendy would have a fulfilled life. Barbara was a lifelong supporter of The Arc and an early and lifelong supporter of Special Olympics. She supported all of her children and grandchildren with the same passion in all of their endeavors. Barbara spent many years working for the Florida Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit housed at the University of Florida. Her co-workers became life-long friends and considered her the unit mother and part of their extended families. Barbara is survived by her children; Linda Pennot, Tracey Ousley (James), and John Fesler (Terry). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Dalton Ousley (Emily), David Ousley, Daniel Ousley, and Gregory Fesler as well as her cousin, niece and nephew; Flora Barrett (Pete), Louise Price and Lee Price. Barbara has many surviving Dooly relatives and friends. Barbara is predeceased by her husband James (Fez) Fesler, daughter Wendy Fesler, son-in-law Steve Pennot, parents James Dooly and Gertie Dooly Dove, and sisters, Ella Price and Charlotte Dooly. She is also predeceased by her niece, Katy and her best friend Judy Schell. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Brandon Cremation and Funeral Services at 3pm. A reception following the service will be held at her daughter’s home in Brandon, Florida. Barbara will interred at a later date next to her husband and daughter.
