Benjamin Clayton Johnson

Benjamin Clayton Johnson May 27, 2021 Obituary for Benjamin Clayton Johnson Benjamin Clayton Johnson, “B.C.”, a hardworking, project finding, avid traveler, rebel without a cause, self-professed director of all with a wild and untamed spirit, died Thursday, May 27, 2021. B.C. had never met a stranger and was generous beyond words. He had a love for fast cars, fast boats and fast planes but, most importantly, he loved his family to no end. If you are reading this, you will be surprised to learn that it wasn’t the self-inflicted gunshot, plane crash into the Gulf of Mexico, or the time that he tipped the tractor in a three-piece suit that took him out! B.C. was born in Rome, Georgia to Heloise Gould and Ezekial Johnson. And was dubbed the eternal “baby brother” to his sister, Patricia. In his early life, he had many jobs, including his first job, selling popsicles to tourist in Rome (well before child labor laws) at the ripe age of 5. Later in life he went on to start multiple insurance agencies, mortgage companies and was the founder of City Wide Mortgage, and multiple other companies. In his work endeavors, he allotted much time for travel; although, if you did find yourself a traveling companion, you had better pack snacks! He lived his life FAST and usually this only allowed timing for a quick run into the convenience store, where he would purchase himself handfuls of candy bars and a quart of boiled peanuts, only to proclaim, “No time for fast food. I don’t eat that garbage!” He is survived by Joan Johnson and his children Dee Bennett (husband Chad), Brandi Johnson (husband Victor), Michelle Shaw (husband Calvin), Melissa Wasson (husband Garrin), Clayton Johnson Jr. (wife Leah), Joshua Johnson and his Grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Alex, Colton, Callista, Savannah, Dakota, Rylan, Elijah, Mia, Phoenix, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Chase and Nataly and Great Grandchildren, Berkeley and Reina. He is also survived by his loving sister Patricia Vick (husband Wayne) and many other family and friends.
