Bernard Alfred Costello

Bernard Alfred Costello December 20, 1931 - November 18, 2021 Loving father, grandfather, and friend. Bernard Alfred Costello, 89, passed away from natural causes on November 18th at Lifepath Hospice in Ruskin, FL where he spent his final days peaceably and in good care. He relocated to Hillsborough County from New Smyrna Beach, FL in 2005 following the passing of his wife of 48 years, Inez Lemucchi Costello, and is survived by his sons, John and Victor, and grandchildren, Sarah Beth, Andy, Lydia, Samuel, and Thomas. Known to his friends as “Coz,” he was born in Washington D.C. and enjoyed a long career as a vacation and timeshare salesman and sales manager at resort communities throughout the U.S., including Marco Island, FL, Cable, WI, Virginia Beach, VA, and Colorado Springs, CO. Yes, he got around AND left his positive mark everywhere he went. He never missed an opportunity to play cards on Tuesday nights with his poker friends who became a loving second family to him. He didn’t always win, but when his game was on, he was to be feared. He enjoyed popping Tic-Tac breath mints, eating seafood and steak, and the Golden Corral buffet. Most importantly, he loved people and making them smile and laugh. He was a sharp dresser and looked particularly dapper in his white suit coat and red pants. The family is grateful to Danny and Dee Barsky and their family for caring for Coz in their home for the past ten years. He was a second father to Dee and could not have been in better hands. The family also thanks the Lifepath Hospice Team for their care and support. In celebration of his life, a service will be held on December 11 th at 2p.m. at Lifepath Hospice located 3723 Upper Creek Dr, Sun City Center, FL 33573.
