In Loving Memory of Pearlena (Pearl) Johnson Sunrise: May 18, 1939 - Sunset: May 11, 2023 Pearlena Esmin Johnson, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 11, 2023, at the age of 83. Her departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her memory will forever be a beacon of love and inspiration. Born on May 18, 1939, in Race Course, Clarendon, Jamaica, Pearlena, affectionately known as Pearl, was a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many through her unwavering love, kindness, and generosity. Her dedication to her family and community defined her character, and her impact will be felt for generations to come. Pearl was a loving, caring, and dedicated mother who is survived by her three children, Angela Brissett, Geoffrey McKenzie, and Terence (Dave) McKenzie. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She created lasting memories with them, fostering bonds that will be cherished for a lifetime. Pearl's love, wisdom, and guidance will forever shape the lives of her descendants. She was preceded in death by her father Ernest Johnson, mother Emeline Lewis Johnson, brother Winston Johnson, and Keith Patrick. Survived by her sister, Enid Earle and brother, Arthur Johnson, Pearl was deeply connected to her siblings. Together, they shared countless moments of laughter, support, and shared experiences. Their bond was unbreakable. Pearl's passing leaves a void that will be felt deeply by siblings Enid (husband Dennis) and Arthur (wife Olive), children Angela (husband Norman), Geoffrey, and Terence (wife Dominique), grandchildren Monique McCubbin, Andre Johnson, Jeffrey Turner Jr, Taylor Turner, Jaylen McKenzie, Kristian McKenzie, Kamryn McKenzie, and Carter McKenzie, great-grandchildren Arkeem Settle Jr., (Papi), Justice Settle, Hayden Turner, and Alina Johnson, and the entire family. Additionally survived by honorary grandchildren Christopher Douglas and Marquis Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends. Beyond her immediate family, Pearl's impact was felt in the wider community. Her selflessness and compassion led her to actively lend a helping hand to those in need. She possessed a giving spirit that touched the lives of many and made a positive difference in the world. Pearl enjoyed spending time talking to her daily talking buddies, Jackie, Blossom, Madge, Carmen, Ruby, Gloria, Olive, and Papi who will miss her dearly. Pearl's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. While her presence will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were touched by her warmth and grace.
