John Michael Bodor, Sr. June 14, 1941 – October 7, 2022 John was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1941. He passed from this life on October 7, 2022 in Sun City Center, Florida. He is survived by his son John and daughter-in-law Yani in Brandon, Florida and his daughter Rhonda in Limerick, Pennsylvania. He has three grandchildren, Gabriel (15), Alessandra (12), and Nicholas Bodor (10). John was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Verna, his sisters Nancy and Carol, and his wife Suzanne. John began his adult life as a United States Marine from 1959 to 1964 serving at Camp Lejeune, Quantico, and Marine Barracks Naples (Italy). It was at Marine Barracks Naples in July 1963 when he had the honor of guarding President John F. Kennedy during his state visit to Rome and Naples, Italy. John worked in the paper coating and manufacturing business for many years before finishing out his working days as a self-employed painting contractor. In 2021 he decided to move to Florida to be with his grandchildren whom he adored and cherished. A family service with military honors will be held at 11 am on December 7, 2022 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. The family requests that contributions to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation be made in his memory in lieu of flowers.
