Linda Stone (Emerson)

Linda Stone (Emerson) September 29, 1946 - July 19, 2023 Linda Stone (Emerson) passed away on July 19, 2023, due to complications from her chronic illnesses. She was 76 years old. Linda was born on September 29, 1946 in Wellsville, NY to Ruth and Leland Emerson. She was one of six children and had many fond memories of her childhood on the family farm in Alfred, NY. Linda migrated to Zephyrhills, FL in 1982 with her children where she enjoyed spending time with her retired parents for several years. Linda, was a beloved member of the Dade City community for 25 + years where she was a longtime Librarian for several Pasco County Libraries. Her main service was at Hugh Embry Library in Dade City where she enjoyed leading the Children's Program for many years. In this role, she interacted with multiple families in the community and loved story time with the children. She often used puppets and dressed up as Mrs. Bunny, Mrs. Claus, and many other characters to enhance her stories. She created incredible programs for her small town. Her passion for serving led her to do heartfelt outreach with limited resources. Linda was also a member of Trilby United Methodist Church where her musical talents and love for children enhanced various lives. In her later years once retired, Linda enjoyed loving on her dog, Dollie and making crafts and jewelry as a hobby. Though Linda's health was failing for years, her joy for life and lovable spirit kept her pushing through the pain.Those that knew Linda will tell you that she loved her family, cracking jokes, laughing, music, puppies, babies, and Jesus. Linda is survived by her daughters Barbara Davis (Rick) of Natural Bridge, NY, Penny Brown (Dirk) of Apollo Beach, FL; her sister Kathy Flammger of Niagara Falls, NY; grandchildren LeeAnna, Lacey, Ken, Cara, and Faith; great grandchildren Dallas, Georgios, Patrick, Evelyn, and Henry; stepchildren Jordan Butler (Shirley), Mark Butler (Marcia), and William Stone; step grandchildren Emily, Heather, Brian, Jason, Julie, and Sarah; along with many nieces and nephews. The family welcomes you to Linda's Celebration of Life at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Trilby United Methodist Church in Dade City, FL. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to your local Humane Society to help animals.
