WILLIAM A. SMITH Oct 10, 1938 - Mar 31, 2021 Obituary for WILLIAM A. SMITH William A. Smith 82, formerly of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania left this earth Wednesday, March 31, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and joiners of America Local 2274 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Joining in 1964, he worked on various bridges, power plants and the ‘Three Rivers Stadium’. After moving to Florida he worked at a dairy farm and also, as a foreman at a golf course. He enjoyed hunting, farming, raising horses, and horseback riding especially with his favorite horse ‘Dandy’. In later years his pastime was watching western movies on TV and DVD’s. He is survived by his wife Arlene, of 56 years, a daughter Billi-Jo, and a granddaughter Anna, as well as, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Kathaleen Smith, a sister Patricia, and five brothers, James (Ralph), Clair, Alan, Richard, and Gene. After cremation, per his wishes, his remains will be scattered in a private burial at sea beneath the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Tampa, Florida. The family of William would like to thank LifePath Hospice ‘Silver team’ for their care and compassion during this time both to our loved one and to us during our bereavement.
