Johnny Wayne Griffin was born on October 4, 1951, in Tampa, Florida, to Bernice Capps and Robert Griffin.

He attended King High School in Tampa, Florida.

Johnny had a deep love for fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors, but above all, he cherished his family.

He was one of four siblings, including Mary, Richard, Doug, and Allen Griffin.

Johnny is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren:
  • Shelia Wise of Weeki Wachee
  • Roy and Amanda Griffin of Spring Hill
  • Jessica Newcomb of Michigan
  • Amanda Bates of Riverview
  • David, Jenny, Chris, Madison, Brody, Alaza, Dawson, and Isaiah
  • Joe and Jerri of Spring Hill, Florida
  • Gracie, Cindy, Sue, Gabriel, and Chandler of Michigan
  • Isaiah Kumor, Trey Chattin, Olivia Pawelczak, and Anthony Herrera of Riverview, Florida
  • Faith Kumor-Zaeske, Gabriel McCune, Skarlet & Jeramiah Zaeske, and Angelina Kumor of Hudson
  • Elijah Kumor of Enid, Oklahoma
  • Savannah of Spring Hill
  • He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as Cheyenne Demorrow, Richard, Doug, and Allen Griffin, and Dixie Silliman.

Johnny will be truly missed by his entire family, including his fiancée of 25 years, Mary Bates of Riverview, Florida.
