Freda Joan Swanson Allmon

Freda Joan Swanson Allmon October 30, 1953 - July 30, 2021 Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister & friend Freda Joan Swanson Allmon, age 67 passed away Friday, July 30 th ,2021 at her home in Brandon, Florida. She was born October 30 th , 1953, in Lenoir, North Carolina to the late George and Jo Neva Swanson. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her four brothers, Fred Swanson, Frank Swanson, Brian Swanson and Igor Swanson as well as her sister, Ida Swanson Prestwood. Freda was a retired elementary teacher with her Master’s Degree from the University of South Florida and former member of the United States Air Force. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1972 as Valedictorian and she went on to NC State. From there, she moved to Florida where she joined the Air Force. While she was in the Air Force she met her husband of 41 years, Cary Allmon. Together they have three children, Tiffany Allmon, Anthony Allmon and Valarie Allmon. She was also the proud Nana to three wonderful grandchildren, Larz Fernandez, Vyncent Devage and Abigale Leath. After retiring she spent as much time traveling with her grandchildren as possible. She loved to visit Alaska which will be the final resting place of her ashes. She was also survived by her brothers, Norman Swanson, Greg Swanson and Carson Swanson as well as her sisters J.B. Barnhardt and Yolonda Whismon. Freda did not want to have a memorial service but instead her family will be taking her ashes to Alaska next year to spread them in her favorite places. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations in her name to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at https://www.lls.org/ . Upcoming Events Gathering: New Paragraph
