JANET GAYLE WILLIAMS

JANET GAYLE WILLIAMS Oct 24, 1943 - Jan 12, 2021 Obituary for JANET GAYLE WILLIAMS Former Ohio resident Janet Gayle Williams, 77, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Sarasota, Florida. She was surrounded by her family during the time of her death and will be forever cherished in their hearts. Janet was born October 24, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Roy Gill Fitzhugh and Frances Simms Fitzhugh. After graduating from Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Warren, Ohio, in 1965, Janet worked as an R.N. at Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital for more than 30 years. She loved caring for people as a nurse, and she continued to work in that capacity at other medical centers until her retirement at age 70. Janet met her husband, Dale, in high school, and they married in 1965. They made their home in Austintown, Ohio, where they raised their family. Dale and Janet moved to Lithia, Florida, in 2003 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They were blessed with 55 happy years together. Janet was a faithful and devoted wife, a loving and nurturing mother and grandmother, and a caring friend to so many. Her life was marked by love and compassion as an overflow of her strong faith in Jesus Christ. At the time of her death, Janet was an active member of Fish Hawk Fellowship, where she also served as a mentor mom for the Mothers of Preschoolers group. Her interests included sewing, reading, and traveling, but her passion was to care for others. Janet is survived by her husband, Dale Williams, Jr.; three children and their spouses: Brian (Claudia) Williams of Florida, Stephanie (Scott) Snyder of Thailand and Amy (Colin) Matsco of Florida; and four granddaughters. She also has two surviving sisters, Cheryl Pyszniak of Ohio and Elizabeth Gigliotti of Pennsylvania. Private graveside service to be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Tampa, Florida.
