Tony Lamar Bennett 09/11/1967 – 04/02/2023 “The Tony Bennett” It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tony Bennett, who passed away on April 2, 2023. Tony was born in Moultrie, GA on September 11, 1967 to his parents Harold “Lamar” Bennett and Betty Thomas Bennett. Tony met the love of his life, Terry Lynn Hicks, and they were married on November 7, 1987. They were married for 35 wonderful years and raised five amazing sons together: Jonathan Matthew (wife Cierra & son Oliver), Daniel Andrew (Ally Chauncy and son Elliott), Anthony David (wife Tiffany, furbabies Penelope, Damien & Darla), Taylor Lamar (Jessie Pierce, sons Kole and Buggy), and Derek Thomas (Kaitlyn Peterson, daughters Evelyn & Isabel). Tony was a devoted husband and father who loved his family deeply. Tony was a hard worker and went back to college to better his family’s lives. He attended ABAC in Tifton, GA and Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA, where he graduated with a BS in Chemistry. Tony had a great career in chemistry as a quality assurance specialist and lab director for multiple companies across South Georgia and Florida. Tony lived an amazing life filled with his love of music and chemistry. He enjoyed attending concerts along with his wife. Tony was also a passionate chemist who loved the world of science and was always eager to share his knowledge with others. Tony is survived by his beloved wife Terry Lynn Hicks Bennett, his wonderful brother Reed Collins, his five amazing sons, and his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved sister LaGretta Hoy. Tony will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, his love for his family, and his passion for music and chemistry.
