Peter Edward Zylman 03/08/1921 – 01/21/2023 Peter Edward Zylman, 101, passed away January 21, 2023 at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was born March 8, 1921 in Muskegon, Michigan and attended Muskegon Christian School and Muskegon High School. He played piccolo in the marching band and was also a cheerleader. Pete was drafted into the Army Air Corp in 1942 and did his basic training in Biloxi, MS. He was then stationed at the St. Petersburg training center (now St. Pete/Clearwater Airport), and later at Drew Field (Tampa International Airport) as an aircraft mechanic. He attended the Packard Aircraft Engine School in Detroit and the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK. After his service in WWII, he was employed by Sealed Power Corp. in various office positions, including a stint in engineering. He managed the Detroit warehouse and then transferred to manage the warehouse in Tampa, where he retired in 1987. He also worked for the City of Largo for a number of years. Pete enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed singing tenor in local choirs. Peter was predeceased by his parents, ten siblings and his wife of 58 years, Faye Ethel Henry of Shelby, MI. He is survived by daughters, Marcia Ballah and Lisa (Antonio) Juncal, sons Dale (Robin), Gary (Jane) and David (Julie), fourteen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Brandon Cremation and Funeral Services in Valrico, Florida on Feb 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Graveside services will be held this summer in Michigan.
